MC shoulda jumped. Escape likely wasn't possible, but death by sudden crushing force is preferable to slow digestion; hell, given the size they were presented to be, their terminal velocity likely wouldnt actually be enough to injure them. Not a criticism of the animation, which was excellent, just a comment on the situation.
